5 Spring Cleaning Tips for Your Vehicle

As the weather gets warmer and the days get longer, many of us start to feel the urge to declutter and deep clean our homes. But what about our Vehicles? Just like our homes, our cars and trucks could use a good spring cleaning. Here are 5 tips to help get your vehicle ready for spring:

CLEAN THE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR

Wash and wax the exterior. Vacuum and shampoo the interior. Not only will this help your vehicle look its best, but it will also protect the paint from dirt, road salt, and other elements. Vacuum and shampoo the interior. Get rid of all the dirt, dust, and crumbs that have accumulated over the winter months. Don’t forget to vacuum under the seats! Feels good to Spring Clean your Car.

GET AN OIL CHANGE

If you haven’t had an Oil Change in a while, spring is a great time to get one. Depending on your driving habits and the type of oil you use, most cars need an oil change every 5,000-7,500 miles. Getting your oil changed regularly helps keep your engine running smoothly and efficiently.

REPLACE THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS

Winter weather can take a toll on your Windshield Wipers. If they’re streaky or making noise, it’s time to replace them. This is an easy fix that you can do yourself or have it done at your next Oil Change.

CHECK YOUR FLUIDS

Next, it’s time to check under the hood. Start by checking all of your Fluids, including Engine oil, Transmission Fluid, Power Steering fluid, brake fluid, windshield washer fluid, and coolant/antifreeze. If any of these fluids are low or dirty, top them off or have them flushed and replaced as needed by a qualified mechanic.

HERE IS THE 6TH BONUS TIP:

CHECK YOUR TIRES

The first thing you should do is check your Tires. In the winter months, road conditions can take a toll on your tires. Potholes, salt, and sand can all cause damage to your tires. Inspect each tire for any signs of wear and tear, such as cracks or bald spots. If you find any damage, take your vehicle to a trusted mechanic or tire dealer to have the tires repaired or replaced.

These are just a few simple tips to help get your car ready for springtime driving! Doing a Spring Vehicle Maintenance now, you can avoid bigger problems down the road—and have peace of mind knowing that your car is running its best.
